• CONGRATULATIONS!  You have been hired.  Now what?

    Once you successfully apply, interview and are awarded with a contract or position in a University, what should you expect to happen next?  Often, once hired, faculty report feeling uncertain, unguided and left out to dry!  Universities are big machines with many wheels and cogs that slowly, but persistently, continue to grind and move.  New faculty, especially in rural areas, can feel left behind quickly if they don't understand what to do next and who to reach out to!

    Although there IS a process for new hires, and there ARE key people who are supposed to reach out to new faculty, this may not always happen in a timely fashion.  This section will set out the process for new hires, resources and key strategies for new faculty who are set to start teaching but may not know what to do next!
