Complete the following:

  • Pick up any required keys from the front office or HR manager who hired you.
  • Take time to familiarize yourself with campus.
  • Obtain an ID card if you need one for travel or at your supervisor's recommendation.  Often there is a process where you take a selfie and send it off to a designated department.
  • Review the Health and Safety Policy to learn about the health and safety requirements of your new position.
  • Learn how and when to submit an incident report/ what to do If you are involved in an incident.
  • Download and install any recommended apps on your smartphone.  
  • Sign up for campus Alerts.
  • Learn how, and when, to contact Security.   
  • Ensure relocation expense reimbursements are submitted (if applicable).
    Your role may include travel. Travel expenses are normally claimed using a travel expense form, available online. Visit OneTRU to read more about travel.

  • Set up regular check-in meetings for yourself and your manager.
  • Review the following:
    • Injuries At Work
    • Contacting Security
    • Working Alone
    • All Policies
    • Responsible Use of Information Technology Facilities and Services Policy
    • Smoking Policy
    • Respectful Workplace and Harassment Prevention Policy
    • Institution Standards of Conduct and Guidelines
