Creating Quality Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) in Your Organization:
A Practical Self-Guided Course for Employers and Community Organizations
Association for Co-operative Education and Work-Integrated Learning BC/Yukon
Welcome to the Quality WIL BC/Yukon Employer and Host Organization Course
Thank you for joining this course—and for supporting meaningful, inclusive, and high-quality Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities for students across British Columbia and the Yukon.
Who this course is for
This course is designed for company and organizational representatives who hire, supervise, or support WIL students.
It was created with your reality in mind: busy schedules, changing roles, and different levels of experience with WIL. Whether you are getting started or strengthening an existing approach, you will find practical tools, templates, and examples that can be applied immediately.
Benefits for employers and host organizations
High-quality WIL benefits both students and organizations. A positive student experience can strengthen your organization’s reputation, help you attract future applicants, and support students in becoming ambassadors for your organization, cause, or products.
Employers and host organizations may also be eligible for government funding to support WIL placements. These programs are often designed with small and medium-sized organizations in mind and may help offset placement costs and administrative effort.
